Collection: Broad River Prawns

The Broad River has been used for generations by the Maggionis for transporting oysters from their beds to the shucking houses, and from there to the canneries. Although a mile wide, the Broad River does not have a significant tide change; therefore it is more of an estuary of the Beaufort River. It also happens to be one of the richest sites on the east coast for cobia fishing. During the height of cobia season, hundreds of boats can be seen at any given point along the river.
